Electrical power in Mirebalais is sporadic at best. Lately there has been no power except what is produced by private generators. Diesel fuel to run the generators is difficult to find and expensive when it is obtained. The price for a gallon runs around $38 USD.
Phase one of HOM’s Solar Power Project enabled our partner church, St. Louis to have solar power installed in the Rectory. Fr. Romel expresses his appreciation and sends photos:
"Dear members of HOM,
I am glad this morning to send you these pictures from the electrical solar system you helped us to pay and to own. Once again thank you so much for your understanding of living without electricity is not normal for us.
Once again, EDH stopped giving electricity since two weeks. Thanks to God and HOM, we have full days and full nights electricity from the solar system. Thank you."
Phase Two and Three will be installations
at the Medical-Dental Clinic and St. Pierre Rectory.
Medical clinics need lab equipment. The 'Lab-in-a-Suitcase' purchase pictured above completed Phase I on this project. Add-on equipment is needed.
Pharmacy looks full now - we bring supplies each trip - more are needed for each year.
Your donation will help purchase medicine, toothpaste, tooth brushes, fluoride as well as help cover the salaries of the doctors and staff at the clinic.
