The people of Haiti have always been grateful for the assistance provided by HOM.
More recently, following the gang invasion in Mirebalais, one of our priests in Haiti wrote a letter of thanks for the humanitarian aid HOM continued to provide. He wrote:
"I was completely helpless in the face of these crisis situations. It causes suffering and stress. Seeing these faithful in poverty and all the suffering that comes with it and not being able to provide an answer to the problem of hunger, a place to sleep and minimal health care were occasions of excruciating suffering for me. These sufferings and pains were alleviated thanks to you who provided me with financial support. I was able to carry out some small humanitarian actions such as: delivery of food, water, blankets and mattresses to many. . . . This means that in the face of these situations, something had to be done and you were there to support me."
